The date of the local flower show in Burslem Park. Some of our gardeners like to take part and enter items in all different sections.
Stoke-on-Trent council run a 'best site' competition and some of our plot holders enter hoping to have the best plot in the city, we also enter our site in the hope of being the best large site in the city.

Heron Cross Allotments are officially the best site in the city. Well done to all plot holders.
MALVERN SHOW - 23rd September 2017
About a dozen plot holders from Heron Cross allotments joined other plot holders from around the city for a day out at the Malvern Show.
It is a place to visit for everyone, not only does it display fruit and vegetables and flowers but it has a selection of stalls selling everything from garden items to clothing and crafts. There is also something to do for children.
The vegetable display was amazing with a wide variety, including the large pumpkins and marrows and tomatoes. Unusual shaped carrots and parsnips.
Flowers were in abundance with some lovely larger dahlias and chrysanthemums.
Plenty of refreshments and bars where you can sample the drinks.
They also held the British Championship pole climbing competition and there was a selection of vintage vehicles, caravans and static steam engines.
We all had a great day out and look forward to another one next year.
